Not all of us have time to do a course in mixing essentials oils. Although a good book explaining essentail oils is great companion as you start to enjoy the benefits of aromatherapy.
Aromatherapy is very powerful to our senses and emotions.
If you are new to essential oils. The easiest way to enjoy the oils is to buy them already blended, or the basic oils that smell good on their own. Like Lavender, orange, patchouli.
If possible, buy organic essential oils. These are made from plants grown without the use of chemicals.
Don’t buy any oils with the word fragrant or fragrance on the bottle, these are synthetic and not used in aromatherapy. Beware because some of the synthetic oils smell stronger and appear at first sniff to smell “better”! But they are not good to inhale, they contain chemicals derived from petroleum and include benzene derivatives, aldehydes and many other known toxins. Mmmm….sad but true.
Essential oils are obtained through steam distillation processes which extract the vital essence of aromatic plants from the flowers, fruits, sap, seeds or skin of the plant, as well as the bark, leaves, roots, resins or wood of certain trees.
Fragrant oils are created in Laboratories using chemicals to replicate particular scents. Take my word for it – avoid them. Read labels, especially on candles. Buy only pure, undiluted essential oils either a single oil or blended.
Always buy pure organic essential oils.
Never buy fragrant oils. (or products containing fragrance).
Buy a diffusser, its the easiest way to enjoy essential oils, or put several drops in your bath.
